Thirty Years Survival without
Anticoagulation after Aortic Valve Replacement with a Björk-Shiley
Prosthesis Anticoagulation is mandatory in all mechanical valve replacements and, when well-managed, permits both embolism and valve thrombosis to be kept at low levels. Here, we report the case of a male patient who has survived 30 years without anticoagulation following aortic valve replacement with the Björk-Shiley prosthesis. |
