Fluoroscopy of Prosthetic Heart Valves: Does it Have a Place in the Echocardiography Era?
Yaron Shapira MD, Itzhak Herz MD, Alex Sagie MD

Fluoroscopy is the best method for delineating the radio-opaque elements of prosthetic heart valves. It is the modality of choice for the validation and quantification of leaflet motion abnormalities, and for identification of structural valve dysfunction. Normal values are shown. Echocardiography and fluoroscopy may be complementary diagnostic techniques and, when used appropriately, may help to evaluate prosthetic valve function, integrity and associated complications.
