Acromegaly is associated with concomitant ventricular dysfunction, and this factor may complicate valvular heart surgery. A series of ten acromegalic patients underwent valvular surgery at our institution. There were no perioperative deaths, and the morbidity was low. Valvular surgery can be performed safely in these patients, even those with active endocrinopathy.
