Aortic valve stenosis (AVS) is a common and progressive heart condition that significantly impacts morbidity and mortality, particularly in the elderly population. This review highlights the latest advances in the diagnosis and management of AVS, emphasizing the role of advanced imaging technologies, biomarkers, and innovations in surgical and transcatheter valve replacement techniques. Special attention is given to transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), which has revolutionized treatment options for high-risk and elderly patients. Emerging therapies, including pharmacological interventions and regenerative medicine approaches, are also discussed, offering new hope for patients with AVS.
