Abstract

Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a prevalent valvular heart disease characterized by abnormal displacement of one or both mitral valve leaflets into the left atrium during systole. This review article explores the pathophysiology of MVP, its clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies. By summarizing recent research and clinical guidelines, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of MVP and its implications for patient care.
